Mabton, WA : Sunnyside woman injured in crash on State Route 22 on Sunday evening, March 12, 2017

A Sunnyside woman was injured in a crash on State Route 22 on Sunday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of SR 22 and Phillips Road when a northbound 2000 Ford Ranger driven by Joseph R. Comstock, 18, of Everett failed to yield to a southbound 2014 Ford Focus driven by Linda J. Acevedo, 50, of Sunnyside, according to the patrol.

The Ranger hit the Focus, injuring Acevedo, who was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital, troopers said. Her condition was not available.

Comstock was cited for failure to yield, the patrol said.

Troopers said both drivers were wearing seat belts, and intoxicants were not considered a factor in the crash.
