BERRYVILLE, VA : Driver seriously injured in Va. 7 crash this morning on Wednesday, August 30, 2017
A minivan driver was seriously injured when he crashed into the back of a slow-moving tractor-tractor on Va. 7 eastbound near the intersection of Triple J Road shortly after 9 a.m. today.
Chief Lee Coffelt, of Boyce Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, said it took firefighters about 10 minutes to extricate the driver, who was flown by helicopter to an area hospital.
Tractor-trailer driver Darceen Angel said she was unhurt. She said the driver was in and out of consciousness after the crash.
“I hope he is OK,” she said.
Angel said she was traveling under 20 mph when the crash occurred. She said the light at the intersection was green.
