A motorcyclist was thrown 50 feet from where he collided head-on with a vehicle in Olivehurst on Monday afternoon.
The motorcyclist, Richard Machado, 27, of Olivehurst, suffered major injuries which included broken legs and lacerations, according to a California Highway Patrol report. He was transported to Rideout Hospital.
He was riding northbound on Olivehurst Avenue at 2:35 p.m. when Colbie Jacobs, 18, of Marysville, struck the motorcycle while turning her 2012 Chrysler sedan left onto Sixth Avenue, the CHP said.
Machado was ejected and came to rest in the parking lot north of the collision scene, the report said.
Jacobs was transported to Rideout with complaints of back and rib pain. Two passengers, both teenagers, were not injured.
Pieces of the vehicle along with the motorcyclist's visor, a mirror and other parts were feet from where the vehicle came to a stop.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be factors, the CHP said.
Responding agencies included the CHP, the Yuba County Sheriff's Office, Bi-County Ambulance and the Olivehurst Fire Department.
