Springfield, OH : Car crashes into pole in Springfield on Friday, November 11, 2016
A woman who hit a utility pole on Bechtle Avenue just north of Broadway Street was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield police Lt. Mike Kranz said.
After striking the pole, the woman apparently continued to drive her car, which was found on Maiden Lane about 20 yards west of North Thompson Avenue, the lieutenant said.
The woman’s name, age and condition were not available.
Numerous street lights were knocked out after the crash. Kranz said no officers were directing traffic. The crash also led to more than 1,400 Ohio Edison customers to lose power. Online outage map information stated power was expected to be restored between 9 and 10 p.m.
