A woman is in critical condition after authorities responded to a single-vehicle crash in Lyon County on Sunday morning.
Nevada Highway Patrol said in a statement that troopers were sent to the site of the crash at about 11 a.m. on State Route 339 outside Yerington.
According to a preliminary investigation, a white Crown Victoria was traveling south on S.R. 339 when it crossed over the center line and northbound lane, before going into a dirt shoulder, according to NHP. The car hit rocks and boulders on the shoulder, then hit a decorative arch at a home.
One of the passengers - later identified as Edith Nance - was not wearing a seat belt, and she was ejected from the car, NHP said.
She was taken to a hospital in Reno by Car Flight, and she was last reported to be in critical condition.
The driver of the car, identified as 45-year-old Pete Gonzales, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI crash resulting in injuries, among other possible charges, according to NHP. He was booked at Lyon County Jail.
