Buffalo,NY : Police identify East Aurora woman who died after West Seneca car crash on June, Sunday 18th 2017

An 87-year-old East Aurora woman has died after a crash Sunday afternoon in West Seneca, police said Monday.

Mary L. Young's car was struck just as she turned off Leydecker Road onto Southwestern Boulevard at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, according to West Seneca Police.

Young was rushed to the Erie County Medical Center where she had been listed in critical condition. Several occupants of the other vehicle involved also were taken to ECMC to be treated for what police described as minor injuries. Southwestern Boulevard was closed until about 6 p.m. while West Seneca's Accident Investigation Unit examined the scene.

Police have not released any other details and have not said what may have caused the crash. No charges were reported as filed against either motorist as of Sunday evening.
