Tampa, FL : 22-year-old Jowel Jacob Figuero died and two injured in crash involving motorcycle on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County on Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2016
A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in an Interstate 75 crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Jowel Jacob Figuero of Lutz died in a 4:40 p.m. on I-75 near Mile Marker 256 in Hillsborough County.
Troopers said the crash happened as Figuero was traveling northbound in the center lane on I-75 and a 2003 Vokswagen Passat moved into his lane. The motorcycle's front wheel struck the back of the Passat, ejecting Figuero. He later died at Tampa General Hospital.
The driver of the Passat, 28-year-old Nenad Spanovic of Tampa, suffered minor injuries, as did his passenger, 28-year-old Edita Memic.
According to the FHP, charges are pending.
