Lansing, MI : Trucker dead after Ohio crash on Wednesday, August 2, 2017

A Michigan man was found dead in Paulding County, Ohio, early Wednesday after his semi ran off U.S. 24, struck a ditch and went into a field, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The patrol at Van Wert said Matthew J. Coleman, 61, of Westland, Michigan, was driving east on U.S. 24 about 2:30 a.m. when his vehicle went off the right side of the road near County Road 83 west of Cecil.

First responders found Coleman inside the semi and unresponsive, the patrol said. He was wearing his seat belt, and alcohol use is not suspected.

The crash and the cause of Coleman's death remain under investigation, the patrol said.
