MANATEE COUNTY, FL : Motorcyclist killed after crashing into Manatee County patrol car on Wednesday, 27th June 2018

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night when they crashed into a Manatee County deputy’s patrol car on Cortez Road, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m., when the driver of a cruiser-style motorbike crashed into the patrol car in the 1800 block of Cortez Road West in Bradenton. The deputy was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The cause of the crash was unknown, but the deputy’s car came to rest on the northeast corner of Cortez Road at 18th Street West in front of Demetrio’s Pizza House — traffic on 18th Street has a marked stop sign. The motorcycle laid on Cortez Road south of the patrol car.
