Ottawa County, MI : Grand Haven Township man injured in car versus tree crash early Sunday morning, August 7, 2016
A Grand Haven Township man was in stable condition after crashing his vehicle into a tree early Sunday morning.
Police were not releasing his name pending possible charges. Alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Emergency crews responded to the scene at 4:52 a.m.
The man was driving north on 156th Avenue at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate a T-intersection and went off the north side of the road, said Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
His vehicle went off an embankment, struck a large tree and came to rest at the bottom of the hill in the woods, Wendt said.
The crash remains under investigation.
