Willimantic,CT : One person seriously injured in scooter crash on Sunday August 2nd 2015

Police in Connecticut say a 19-year-old man driving a motorized scooter was seriously injured in a crash.

It happened at around 2:25 p.m. Sunday in Willimantic. Police say the victim was headed eastbound on Main Street when he collided with another car as it was making a left turn.

Crews treated the man at the scene. He sustained skull and spinal injuries and was taken to Windham Hospital before being airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

Police say he was seen driving erratically and wasn't wearing a helmet.Police say the driver of the car was not seriously hurt.
