NEW HAVEN, CT : New Haven Fire SUV involved in fatal crash on Saturday, 27th January 2024

A driver was killed in a head-on collision involving a New Haven Fire Department SUV, according to police.

Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Hemingway Street and Russell Street around 8:34 p.m. The crash involved a Honda Accord and a New Haven Fire Department SUV.

The driver of the SUV told police they were driving westbound on Hemingway Street and was approaching the intersection of Russell Street when the driver of the Honda swerved over the double line from the eastbound lane.

The Honda struck the SUV head-on, according to police.
