Gulfport, FL : Jackie Lewis, 74, died after a motor vehicle accident on Gulfport Blvd in Pinellas County on Wednesday, February 3, 2016

At about 6:35 p.m., Gulfport Police was dispatched to the 5400 block of Gulfport Blvd referencing a motor vehicle accident.

Jackie Lewis, 74, was struck by 86-year-old Sharon O'Dell driving her 2011 Chevrolet HHR while Lewis was crossing Gulfport Blvd.

Lewis was not in a marked crosswalk at the time he was struck. He sustained significant injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Gulfport Police Department is a member agency of the Pinellas County Major Accident Investigation Team, which will be responsible for conducting the investigation. At this point, no citations or charges have been filed.
