Bloomsburg,PA : a township road worker has been killed by a dump truck on April, tuesday 25th 2017
Police say a township road worker has been killed by a dump truck driven by another crew member in Pennsylvania.
Hemlock Township police say 60-year-old Joseph Benner, of Catawissa, was directing the driver of the dump truck as it backed up when he was run over about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver, who also worked for the township’s four-person road crew, is 27-year-old Joseph Fetterman.
Township Supervisor Mark Morrow called the incident a tragic accident, saying the road crew is a tight-knit group that takes care of one another.
The Columbia County coroner scheduled an autopsy for Wednesday.
State police investigators are working to reconstruct the accident. The driver has not been cited.
Hemlock Township is about 70 miles (112.7 kilometers) northeast of Harrisburg.
