Lafayette, IN : One dead, four people injured in a crash in Lafayette on Saturday morning, March 18, 2017

Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning Lafayette Police responded to an automobile accident at the intersection of South St. and Market Place Drive in Lafayette.

A small passenger car, traveling East on South St., collided head-on with a SUV turning into Market Place Drive.

The four occupants of the SUV were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the smaller, passenger vehicle was immediately transported to Franciscan Saint Elizabeth East. The driver died later that day from injuries sustained in the collision.

The circumstances causing the accident remain under investiagtion and the identity of the victim has not yet been released.
