Appleton,WI : Appleton woman killed in crash on June, Thursday 29th 2017

A 41-year-old Appleton woman was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 29 in the town of Herman, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department said.

The incident happened just before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Rangeline Road.

An initial evaluation of the crash suggests that a 2013 Ford Focus operated by a 31-year-old Shawano man had been travelling east on Highway 29, crossed the median and struck a westbound 2008 Saturn being driven by the Appleton woman.

Two juveniles travelling with the woman were being treated at area hospitals, as was the driver of the other vehicle. Initial reports were that they did not have life-threatening injuries.

Aid was provided on-site by a passerby, Gresham Fire/EMS and Shawano Ambulance Service.

The crash is being investigated by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

No additional information was being released Thursday afternoon.
