FORT HUNT, VA : Driver crashes and lands upside-down into Potomac driver hospitalized on Wednesday, 30th October 2024

A woman was pulled from a turned-over car in the Potomac River Wednesday night and taken to a hospital, after bystanders saw she was trapped.

"She got out safely with minor injuries," Fairfax County Fire / Rescue said Wednesday night. "The car remains in the river as crews work to remove it."

The crash happened off of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, near the intersection with Waynewood Boulevard in Fort Hunt at around 7 p.m..
