Smithville, TN : One airlifted in dump truck crash on Saturday, November 12th 2016

One man was airlifted after two loaded dump trucks collided and overturned off Coconut Ridge Road Saturday afternoon.

According to Trooper Chris Delong of the Tennessee Highway Patrol Bobby Hughes, 61, of Lebanon was negotiating a steep hill on Rutherford Lane in a 2015 Mack dump truck down a steep hill on Rutherford Lane trying when to when he was struck in the rear by a 2016 Kenworth dump truck driven by Harlan Galinelli, 53, of Gallatin.

Both dump trucks belong to Hunt Construction Company of Wilson County.
