New Haven, CT : One person killed and another seriously injured in car crash near the Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James on Saturday, February 6, 2016

Police say one person was killed and another seriously injured in an early morning car crash.

Police say a driver lost control of a vehicle and struck a tree around 2:30 a.m. at an intersection near the Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James. The driver died at the scene.

A passenger suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police haven't released their identities.

Police say speed and weather appear to have been factors in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
