BURLINGTON, VT : School closures linked to fewer storm-related crashes on Monday, December 12th 2016
Vermont State Police say they responded to about 30 car accidents, or slide-offs, during Monday morning's commute.
That was a reduction from the more than 50 crashes during the first wide-spread storm two weeks ago. Over 400 schools were closed or delayed, and VTrans officials say that may have helped reduce the number of vehicles on the roads.
VTrans had its whole compliment of 250 plows on the road for the third storm this season and officials say Vermont as a whole was better prepared, which lead to fewer problems.
