Yoncalla, OR : Woman dead after crashing into tree near Yoncalla on Monday, March 13, 2017

A Yoncalla woman died Monday after her vehicle crashed into a tree in the 3000 block of Hayhurst Road near Yoncalla, just after 7 p.m.

Douglas County sheriff’s Sgt. Brad O’Dell said Tuesday that Alice Crawford, 71, was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.

O’Dell said alcohol likely was a contributing factor, but the crash remains under investigation.
