8-year-old girl killed in crash near Nevada Missouri
An 8-year-old girl from Nevada, Mo., was killed after being ejected from a van that overturned several times on Interstate 44 west of Waynesville Saturday afternoon.Five other people, all from Nevada, Mo., in the van were all hospitalized for moderate injuries after the crash that occurred near mile marker 152 on the eastbound lanes around 3:36 p.m.
The girl who died was identified as Hannah R. Lamb. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Pulaski County Coroner Mikel Hartness. She was taken to Waynesville Memorial Chapel.The five other people who were transported by Pulaski County ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon were the driver, Logan E. Lamb, 15; and passengers Brice A. Lamb, 12; Tami R. Smith, 34; Addison J. Wittock, 2; and Justin S. Wittock, 28.
The driver and all five passengers were wearing seat belts.According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the 2003 Chevrolet Venture van was traveling eastbound when it ran off the right side of the road.
