Beckley, WV : Beckley man killed in accident on Friday, 23rd March 2018

A Beckley man lost his life Friday morning in a vehicle accident near Beckley, West Virginia State Police troopers reported.

Gary Atkins was heading east on Sweeneysburg Road around 10:15 a.m. when he rounded a corner of the curvy roadway and lost control of his car.

According to a press release from the Beckley detachment of West Virginia State Police, preliminary reports indicated that alcohol and the use of controlled substances were contributing factors in the crash.
