AUSTIN, TX : 1 dead, APD officer injured following crash in North Austin on Friday, 30th June 2023

One person is dead and an Austin police officer is injured following a crash in north Austin on Friday.

Police said on June 30, around 5:03 p.m., officers responded to a crash in the 13000 block of N US 183 HWY NB. The crash involved an on-duty APD officer in a marked police unit and another driver.

Both vehicles suffered extensive damage, and the crash resulted in serious injuries to the civilian driver. Life-saving measures were performed, however, the driver was pronounced dead around 5:23 p.m.
