PHILLIPS, ME : Maine man dies in crash on slippery roads on Saturday, January 28th 2017

Police say a Maine man is dead after the pickup truck he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer truck on slippery roads.

Police say 21-year-old Loren Keim, of Dixfield, died in the Saturday morning crash in Phillips.

Franklin County Sheriff Department Sgt. Matthew Brann tells the Sun Journal (http://bit.ly/2jKHCtN ) newspaper the truck was headed north on Route 4 when Keim’s vehicle struck the axles on the trailer, causing catastrophic damage to his vehicle.

Keim was the son of Republican state Sen. Lisa Keim.

Sheriff Scott Nichols says the roads were “terribly slippery.” He called it a terrible accident.
