Moultrie, GA : Tifton man dies in wreck on Highway 33 near Autreyville Thursday, August 18, 2016

A Tifton man died Thursday when his car ran off the road on Highway 33 in rural Colquitt County.

Christopher Milton Rousey, 40, of Tifton, was driving south at about 2:30 a.m. on Georgia Highway 33, just south of the Autreyville community, when he lost control of his 2007 Ford Focus, according to the Georgia State Patrol and Colquitt County Deputy Coroner Kevin Wimberly.

“It appears he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road and hit a culvert,” Wimberly said. “The vehicle began to roll. When the vehicle began to roll he was ejected.”

Rousey was not wearing a seat belt, the GSP said.

Wimberly pronounced Rousey dead at the scene at 3:30 a.m. Cause of death was blunt-torce trauma, he said.

He did not know why Rousey was in driving in that area at that time of the morning.
