GARDENA, CA : 3 teens killed in Gardena freeway crash identified on Sunday, November 27th 2016
Authorities Monday identified three of four people killed when their speeding car crashed into a pillar on a freeway transition road in Gardena over the weekend.
The crash occurred at 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the transition from the northbound 110 Freeway to the westbound 91 Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi.
Ivan Pacheco, 18, of Inglewood; Rocio Barron, an 18-year-old Compton woman and 18-year-old Pedro Crisostomo-Rodriguez of Victorville were among the four people who died, the coroner’s office reported.
Pacheco was the driver and Barron was a rear-seat passenger.
“According to witnesses, a blue Ford Probe traveling at a high rate of speed, northbound on the Interstate 110 transition to the westbound state Route 91, lost control and struck a support pillar,” said CHP Officer D. Howells.
The other person who died — a male — has not been positively identified, according to the coroner’s office.
