Sorrento, FL : Lake County crash claims life of 39-year-old Zellwood woman on State Road 44 near Sorrento on Tuesday, 26th March 2019

A 39-year-old Zellwood woman died Tuesday after she struck a pole on State Road 44 near Sorrento, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

She was driving east on SR 44 near Huff Road around 7 p.m. when she lost control, left the road, flipped over and struck a pole, said Lt. Kim Montes.

The driver, whose name was not release, came to a rest in a water-filled ditch. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Three children were in the SUV and suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
