Milton, WA : Car's engine tossed 50 feet in fatal high-impact crash on Sunday, June 22, 2014
The Milton, Washington, police chief says a car involved in a fatal crash crossed the center line, launched off another vehicle and was hit hard enough by an oncoming truck to toss the car's engine 50 feet.
The Pierce County medical examiner's office identified the driver Monday as 22-year-old Kyle Pike of Puyallup.
Police Chief Mark Langford says an officer saw the car traveling at high speed Sunday night on Pacific Highway East. Two people in other vehicles were injured.
Langford says police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
