CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC : 1 dead, 1 injured in Charleston County crash on Monday, 27h May 2024

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that killed one person and sent another to a hospital with serious injuries.
The crash happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Highway 78, sheriff’s spokesperson Alexis Douglas said. Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling west on Highway 78 when it ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and then hit a tree.
The passenger died at the scene, Douglas said.
