Patrick,SC : Patrick County car crash kills man Stuart man dies after wreck in Patrick County on July, Friday 21th 2017

A Stuart man died Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle wreck in Patrick County, according to a state police report.

The crash happened at 10:50 a.m. after a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer going south on Woolwine Highway (Virginia 8) entered the intersection with Jeb Stuart Highway (U.S. 58). The Mitsubishi pulled in front of an westbound 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck, which hit the Mitsubishi in the driver's side, according to the release.

The Mitsubishi's driver, 87-year-old Amos Morrison, was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he died. He was wearing a seat belt.

The truck's driver, a 65-year-old Stuart man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. He was also wearing a seat belt.

State police are continuing to investigate the wreck.
