Orlando, FL : Pedestrian hit, killed in Orlando crash, police say on Sunday, January 1st 2017

A 60-year-old woman was killed while walking along an Orlando street Sunday, police said.

The woman, who wasn't identified, was walking shortly before 7 p.m. on South Ivey Lane in the Malibu Groves neighborhood when a vehicle hit her, said Orlando police Lt. Jonathan Bigelow.

She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver was uninjured and is being cooperative with the investigation, Bigelow said.

The wreck happened south of State Road 408 near Lake Mann.

Traffic on Ivey Lane was shut down temporarily as police investigated but has since reopened.
