Newport,OR : Car crashes onto local sidewalk on April, Thursday 26th 2018

An 85-year-old driver attempting to negotiate a parking space drove her car across a broad sidewalk packed with shoppers before crashing into a bench where a man was seated on Thursday, April 26. “I was just stopping to get taffy,” remarked Leah Stewart of Philomath, who had driven to the coast for a day of sightseeing with a female companion. “I stomped on the brakes but I kept going and turned that bench into a recliner.”
