SANBORN, NY : North Tonawanda man killed in Sanborn collision on Wednesday, February 15th 2017

Lockport Road between Nash and Ward roads in Sanborn was reopened Wednesday evening following the investigation of fatal crash at the site, State Police said.

The victim of the crash was identified by authorities as Randall M. Burd, 71, of North Tonawanda. Burd died at the scene, according to State Police.

The crash occurred at about 2:46 p.m. at the intersection of Lockport and Hoover roads, police said.

According to officers at the scene in Niagara County, the driver of the passenger vehicle was headed north on Hoover and allegedly ran a stop sign before colliding with a tractor trailer that was traveling west on Lockport Road. The impact sent the car into a ditch, police said.
