Milwaukee, WI : Motorcycle officer struck by hit-and-run driver Friday on the city's west side on October 10, 2014

A Milwaukee police motorcycle patrol officer was struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday on the city's west side. The officer suffered injuries that are not life-threatening when he was struck by a car about 11 a.m. at N. 35th St. and W. North Ave., according to a Milwaukee Police Department news release. According to the release, the officer was making a left hand turn onto N. 35th St. after traveling east on North Ave. when he was sideswiped by an eastbound car that was in the westbound lane of North Ave. The officer, who is 43 years old, has 18 years of service with the department and is assigned to the department's Neighborhood Task Force, was treated at a hospital and released. The car that struck the officer is a black, 4-door Nissan with tinted windows, according to the release. Anyone with information on the car is asked to call Milwaukee police.
