LOWELL, VT : Vermont man killed in ATV crash on July, Saturday 29th 2017

A 22-year-old Irasburg, Vermont man was killed Saturday afternoon when the All Terrain Vehicle he was driving ran off Irish Hill Road in Lowell, Vermont and crashed into a stand of trees.

Vermont State Police said Nicholas Miller was driving his 2017 Polaris RZR 1000 ATV with a passenger along Irish Hill Road at a high rate of speed when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The ATV ran off the right side of the roadway onto the grassy shoulder for approximately 50 yards before going over an embankment and crashing into trees.

Miller, who was wearing neither a helmet or seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and killed in the impact.

His passenger was transported to North County Hospital with minor injuries.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the incident but said speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors.
