Huron, SD : Highway 14 accident sends one to hospital on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016

One driver was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 14 on the east edge of Huron Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Noe Garcia, 18, of Huron was transported by ambulance to Huron Regional Medical Center with serious, non-life threatening injuries after the 1997 Ford Mustang he was driving collided with a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup just before 11 a.m.

The Highway Patrol said charges are pending against Garcia.

The pickup was driven by Charles Carter, 37, of Watertown. Two young children were passengers. No one in the pickup was injured.

Garcia, Carter and the children were all wearing seat belts.

The Highway Patrol said Garcia was eastbound on Highway 14 and Carter was westbound when Garcia attempted to make a left turn onto a service road and pulled out in front of Carter.
