Springfield, OH : 1 person killed, 1 injured in car-truck crash on Medway-New Carlisle Road on Thursday, May 7, 2015

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car fatal crash.

Crews were called to Medway-New Carlisle Road shortly before 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police say Shirley A. Seaman, 80, was northbound on Medway-New Carlisle Road and attempted to make a left turn. Seaman failed to yield the right away to southbound driver, Karl Benge, 28, and struck his vehicle, causing it to overturn on its side.

Benge was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was declared dead on the scene. Seaman was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Bethel Township EMS.

Investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
