Allen County, IN : Five hurt in Allen County crash near the intersection of Sunnydale Street on Saturday, 28th July 2018

Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Eastown Road near the intersection of Sunnydale Street in Allen County, the State Highway Patrol reported.

Around 3:48 p.m., a 2008 Mercury Sable was northbound on Eastown while attempting to turn left onto Sunnydale, with a northbound 2005 Mini Cooper stopped behind the Sable.

A northbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado struck the Cooper in the center rear, forcing the Cooper into the Sable’s rear, the patrol reported. The Cooper traveled off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest in a cornfield, while the other vehicles came to rest on the roadway.

The Sable’s driver, Rebecca L. Keller, 79, of rural Elida, was treated at the scene for minor injuries, the patrol reported.

The Cooper’s driver, Jennifer Hiester, 46; and passenger, Olivia Hiester, 17, both of Ada, were mechanically extricated from the vehicle and transported to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
