Orlando, FL : A 20-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run crash at Orange County on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016

A 20-year-old man riding a moped was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said an SUV was traveling east in the right lane on State Road 50 around 8:30 p.m.

A man on a moped was also eastbound in the right lane on State Road 50 in front of the SUV, troopers said.

For an unknown reason, the SUV didn't slow down as it approached the moped, and the front of the SUV struck the moped. The driver of the moped was ejected.

According to witnesses, the driver of the SUV applied the brake and then drove away. The SUV traveled east on State Road 50.

The SUV is described as a light-colored SUV with front-end damage.

The man on the moped was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

The crash remains under investigation. Charges are pending, troopers said.
