Tucumcari, NM : One person died in Head on collision near Tucumcari on Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2015

Officials continue to investigate a head-on collision near Tucumcari that left one person dead.

New Mexico state troopers say early Wednesday afternoon the driver of a car headed east on I-40 crossed the center median into oncoming traffic.

The car collided head-on with a semi traveling west. The driver of the car was killed in the accident while the driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.

The names of those involved are being withheld as troopers notify family members.
