EDWARDSVILLE, IL : Single-car crash results in power outage near Route 143 near Route 159 on Friday, 27th December, 2019

A power outage near Route 143 near Route 159 occured Friday afternoon after a single-car crash left a white SUV at the bottom of a creekbed.
The female driving the vehicle was not injured.
The incident happened around 4:10 p.m., according to the Edwardsville Fire Department.
Before being stopped by a bridge support pylon, the car struck a telephone pole, causing the top of the pole to break off.
The Moto Mart, 1905 N. Main St., and surrounding areas had lost power; officials were unsure at the time when power would be restored.
