NORWALK, CT : Cyclist hospitalized following collision with car on Thursday, December 1st, 2016

A cyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision with a vehicle Thursday afternoon, police said.
The incident occured shortly after 1 p.m. at the intersection of Spring Hill and Riverside avenues, said Norwalk police Sgt. Sofia Gulino.
A witness to the collision first reported it to police at 1:22 p.m., Gulino said.
A section of the roadway near the intersection remained closed for several hours as police investigated the area.
Police officials Friday said that both the driver of the vehicle and the cyclist were male. No ages or identifications were released.
How the collision unfolded along with whether any criminal charges would be pursued remained unclear.
The incident is still under active investigation.
