SOUTH PORTLAND, ME : Auburn driver hurt in turnpike overpass crash on Sunday, 14th July 2019
An Auburn man sustained multiple injuries Monday morning when part of a machine he was hauling struck a turnpike overpass and ripped through the truck cab.
Loel Faulkinham, 58, of Auburn was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries not considered life-threatening, according Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.The industrial lift owned by WD Mathews Machinery Co. of Auburn and the trailer carrying it were damaged in the accident at mile 45 in South Portland.
Faulkinham suffered a compound fracture to an arm and also broke some ribs, Jim Chaousis, the company’s service manager said.
