PHOENIX, AZ : Thunderbird Road shut down during morning commute due to pedestrian crash on Wednesday, 1st November 2023

Thunderbird Road was shut down Wednesday morning near 27th Avenue after a crash involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.

Phoenix police say the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m.

Officials say a 93-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries during the collision and later died at a hospital.

Police say the man is believed to have been crossing the street in a marked crosswalk against a "do not walk" signal when a vehicle hit him. The driver stayed at the scene.
