A vacant car was sitting at the intersection of the tracks and road when an Amtrak train heading southbound, carrying 400 passengers, collided with the car, Hardeeville officials said. The car was cut in two and the collision ignited a fire.

The city of Hardeeville said a Beaufort woman was charged with driving under the influence and violation of a beginners permit. No one was injured in the August wreck.
