St. Clair Shores, MI : Motorist dies in crash on I-94 in St. Clair Shores on Monday afternoon, October 13, 2014

A male motorist was killed Monday afternoon in a single-car accident on Interstate 94 in St. Clair Shores, according to the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver went up an embankment on eastbound I-94 and crashed into a bridge at Stephens Road about 1 p.m. Police closed all three eastbound lanes while an investigation was conducted. The freeway was re-opened about 2:30 p.m. The victim’s age and residence were not available as Michigan State Police did not provide any information on the accident. St. Clair Shores fire officials also would not comment. Macomb County Medical Examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz said although county employees were off Monday for the Columbus Day holiday, an investigator responded to the location to compile a report.
