Coroner: Man killed after crash off US 34 near Kersey was unrestrained on Thursday, 30th January, 2020

The Weld County Coroner’s Office recently identified the 42-year-old man who died after crashing into icy water southeast of Kersey.

Thomas Edward Ogorchock, Jr., was driving westbound on U.S. 34 when the vehicle went off road near Weld County Road 61 and rolled down an embankment, according to the coroner’s office.

Ogorchock was not wearing a seat belt and ejected when the vehicle rolled. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 29-year-old woman riding in the SUV was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and later released. There were no other injuries.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash. Neither drugs, alcohol nor speed were initially suspected as factors in the crash.
