Woods County, OK : Three injured in a two-vehicle collision in Woods County on Tuesday evening, October 28, 2014
Three people were injured Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle collision in Woods County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting.
The collision occurred at 5:50 p.m. at County Road 180 and Jefferson Road, four miles north and one mile west of Freedom, according to an OHP report.
An unnamed juvenile was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 south on County Road 180 approaching Jefferson. A 2012 Mack truck, driven by James Bryan March, 50, of Woodward, was eastbound on Jefferson.
March’s truck entered the intersection and the juvenile failed to yield, colliding with the Mack truck, according to the report. The juvenile’s passenger, 51-year-old Vicki Sue Fechner, was pinned for about 15 minutes before being freed by Freedom Fire and Rescue.
The juvenile and Marsh were transported from the scene by Alva EMS to Share Medical Center in Alva. The juvenile was treated for leg and head injuries, according to the report. Marsh also was treated and released for head and internal injuries.
Fechner was taken from the scene by air ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and was admitted in stable condition with arm, leg and body injuries.
The cause of the collision was failure to yield to vehicle on the right, according to the report. Seat belts were used by all.
