Kansas City,KS : Dad critically hurt in crash with Jackson County cop gets support from community on May, Wednesday 9th 2018

A Raytown father was critically injured in a crash with a Jackson County deputy who was pursuing a different vehicle on Wednesday.

The father, Chris Reed, is suffering from a spinal injury and broken clavicle. He's had more than a hundred stitches and staples to his head and may lose part of his right ear, according to a family friend, who established a GoFundMe page for Reed and his family.

The Jackson County Sheriff's deputy was also seriously injured in the crash, which was preceded by a pursuit of a vehicle allegedly with switched tags.

The GoFundMe for Reed has raised nearly $2,000 of a $100,000 goal.
